Oh hey, it’s me again,
I’m still considering seasonal posts rather than monthly but posting when I feel like it also feels like a vibe. ANYWAY, let’s get into the short read ~
My break from drafting is coming to a close this week and I’m excited to get back into Death and Rest. I believe I timed my break perfectly (for me) because my other projects are starting to feel a little dry. I love my other projects, but my focus likes to shift, and right now it wants Death and Rest. I’m confident when I open DNR back up, I will notice everything I need to; and whatever I don’t catch will be caught by a long-time friend who has accepted my ask in proofreading.
I’m trying to grasp that during this round of drafting I’ll also be converting Death and Rest into an eBook which means I’m pretty much in the final stretch of DNR being a physical book that I can HOLD in less than five months.
My second book baby.
A world that has existed for such a long time! (In my head). My heart simply warms by the thought of it.
I think back to high school when I wanted to be a writer and, at the time, I imagined a very different story of mine would be told one day. But I’m happy it is this one that is out there. The world of Alhan is so much more than anything I could have imagined back then, and I’m glad of it because what I was thinking of in high school should stay in high school. Yes, a piece of Alhan did exist twenty years ago, but it was not what it is now, and I think it was always meant to become what it is today.
If you’re looking for something to do while washing dishes, a long drive, or if you’re just a general enjoyer of podcasts, recently I was a guest on the Jason Shannon Podcast. I talk about writing, Death and Rest AND Time, Swords, and Blood. If you were a fan of my Rot and Read session, you can live it one more time while I read the first four pages of Time, Swords, and Blood at the end of the episode. Jason Shannon is a fellow indie author who I met at a book market in February and you can check out his books here: https://www.jasonmshannon.com/
April is Indie Author Month, so I encourage you to like, share, follow, and support indie authors everywhere in anywhere you can! So many stories are brushed under the radar of readers because they are not traditionally published. If you already follow me on Instagram, you can go into my following list and find more indie authors there to support.
