Speaking of Shawn, she is also the owner of Book Bazaar Canada. I have mentioned her in the past, or at least the brand name, as I was a vendor at one of her markets back in February.
I have partnered with her for the month of August to host a giveaway on Instagram. News 3:
Speaking of my launch party, I have secured the most beautiful event space to host the official release of my second book baby. The most exciting part about it? There’s going to be seating.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the launch party for my first book Time, Swords, and Blood lately and remember how little seating I had in my house for 35 people. There were absolutely more people than places to sit (I had my couch, an ottoman, a chest with some pillows on it and some dining chairs…That’s it). When I thought about what I wanted for my event space for Death and Rest I knew I wanted two things: for it to not be at my house and for there to be a fair amount of seating and space so people are not sardined together like my last event.
This event space is at a gorgeous old building in Oshawa and has chairs and tables aplenty. I have yet to start the process of making my decorations for the event, but I have made the list of everything I need to do and what I have to make before the event. I’m hoping to have the majority done by September 1st so I can spend the last 19 days leading to the release relaxed.
Tickets will become available On Thursday August 6th. I will absolutely be gabbing about it on my socials so keep an eye on those or my events page to know when the link goes live. In order to pay for my space, décor and refreshments, tickets will be $15+ tax.
If you have not preordered a copy of DNR yet, you can still do so up until the day of release. Each preorder comes with some extra fun goodies. If you instead want to purchase a book at the launch party, Death and Rest is going to cost $30 CASH or etransfer.
Oh, and I will be dressing up so costumes will be absolutely encouraged (but not mandatory).
I currently have a physical copy of DNR in my home. He’s heavy and handsome and I’m making sure there is no residual things hiding in him. The final version is going to look slightly different, but I’m so glad I ordered one ahead of time for finalizations. Also HOLDING him? I still can’t believe he’s here, that I wrote a second book.
I really cannot express how excited I am for you to meet him.
