Happy March Folks!
Have you seen the event page lately? (Or maybe you’ve noticed it on the discord?)
Well, you should check it out!
Beginning Monday October 20th 2025, we (well me, Hannah haha) will be celebrating the one year anniversary of Time, Swords, and Blood! Consider this your official invitation to join me every Monday evening beginning October 20th while I read my debut novel! I will be reading one to two chapters of Time, Swords, and Blood until I finish the book, and I would love to have friends, fans and everyone in between to join me on discord during a Read-Along!
Why should you come? WELL every attendee will be entered to win a signed copy of my next title releasing in 2026. (Also yes, every week you attend is an ADDITIONAL entry!) The winner will be announced one week after the Read-Along is complete.
Do you want additional entries? Attendee’s can also participate in the Read-Along by reading lines for their favourite characters! Isn’t that fun? I think so!
Of course there will be more details to come on this event and if a lot of people attend, I will add additional books to the giveaway, but right now there is only one book up for grabs, but it will be free so WHY NOT attend and try to get your hands on it?
Anyway, I’m excited about this, and you should be excited too. Are you not on my discord server yet? Here’s the link: https://discord.gg/T8q4dbZ9Km
Speaking of website stuff I have added International Tracking to my website AND Letter from a Friend, which I’m happy about. I have not added photos for the items yet, but I’m working on it and there will probably be cute photos up in time for my next blog post.
ALSO speaking of International Shipping, my Australian friend, who I brought up in my last blog actually received her first copy! It took a whopping four whole months for it to find her. SO INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS, you can totally wait up to four months for your copy to appear at your home, or you can pay extra for tracked shipping and get it within two weeks. Your choice, but it will show up so yay!
My creative juices have really been flowing lately, and it’s another thing I’ve been super excited about. I know a lot of authors struggle with writer’s block, and I know I’m lucky that it rarely hits me. Something I see writers talk about online a lot is their struggle is to focus on a current project even though they have other ideas on their brain. I’ve always thought it’s better to get those idea’s out first so then I’m no longer thinking about them. This is how I have so many pieces of other books already written (including the ending to my current series). Not only do I know where I want each book in my current series to go, I also have the idea for an anthology of short stories about the characters reader’s have met and will meet, I have an itch to write Shamira’s story (yes, there’s a big chunk of it already written), and three other books with completely new characters readers have not met, nor will for a while (unless I change my mind haha). One includes a story completely inspired by a dream I had when I was eighteen and it lives rent free in my brain at all times.
I know a good way to keep my creative juices flowing is to consume other media, so I’ve made it a goal to finish five books in 2025 that have been sitting on my ‘reading’ shelf for a very long time on Goodreads (some since 2019, whoops). In addition to that, I’ve been reading, and writing, a lot of fan fiction which is scratching an itch I did not think I had, but here we are. I also will be reading at least three other books thanks to my mum (Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins, we’ve already started it together and I’m not crying, you’re crying), my book club, and an author friend of mine! Okay, maybe four because my therapist recommended a book to me and it would probably be a good idea to at least start it.
For my current project releasing next year (I’m aiming for September, near the equinox) I have a target word count of 120 000. That was the same goal I had with Time, Swords, and Blood, but before I cut a bunch of content that sucker sat at 170 000, so we will see where the current project lands. Speaking of new project, I’ll be sticking the ability to preorder it on my website in September, hopefully a year in advance before he releases. The OG story this project is based on is still sitting online with some of the characters I’ve brought back to life in this novel. I invite you to go find it but beware of the cringe that awaits you. I’m still working on my first draft (who is close to 90 000 words now, and I cannot pull my fingers away from him), but I’m hoping to get into the second draft sometime in April. Thanks to Time, Swords, and Blood, I know the process I need to take to make sure he comes out right the first time and not make my readers suffer through an apparent unrevised version on release date.
ANYWAY, what is his name? you must be wondering. I’ve been saying I would release the name of my next title this month and I’m super excited to tell you what his name is, especially because the short form is absolutely clever with the content of the book.
My next title, coming out in 2026, is Death and Rest.
I will be referring to him as DNR a lot in the coming months/year because COME ON. DNR? Do Not Resuscitate? Death and Rest? Perfection. Can you guess what will be involved in this next novel of mine? I would love to hear theories.
As always, remember to tell your friends about me! Tell them the subscribe to my newsletter and follow me on Instagram and Tiktok (make sure you like my posts there too, I got some sick title art from my amazing cover artist who brought Time, Swords, and Blood to life and I’m incredibly excited to be working with them again). ALSO, just one more month before I raise the prices for my ebook who is 4.99CAD right now. Tell your friends who like ereaders about me. I think my book is worth it!
Chat again in April!
