Podcast, Ebook, and Wrong Words! Oh my!

Hey folks!

I’d like to start off by saying thank you for subscribing to my newsletter/blog! I hope you find it entertaining or at least educational in the goings-on behind the scenes of my author journey.

Here are a couple questions/comments I’ve been given over the last month, but especially since Time, Swords, and Blood has been published last week.

Do you have an ebook?
I am planning on releasing an ebook in the future! Though I had the option to publish the ebook at the same time as the print copy, there was extra formatting I had to do to put the ebook out and honestly, I did not have the bandwidth to do that.
I am presently planning on getting out by the end of January 2025 and I’ll have an exact date available hopefully in time for next months newsletter.
I am actually glad I decided not to do the ebook at the same time, because it is giving me the chance to fix some issues I’m finding with the print copy. Right now, I just need to fix one copy of the book, not two. Once the issues are resolved with the print copy, I can move on to formatting the perfect ebook to put out for sale!

Will you have an audiobook?
One day I hope I will. However, this will be a while into the future as what I hope to do with it is mildly unique. Once Time, Swords, and Blood has been drifting around the world for a bit and I have the means, I want to record the audiobook myself with my friends voicing the characters. I will either release it all at once as an audiobook or release one chapter at a time like a podcast series! Rest assured, when this is in the works, you will be updated.

I’ve noticed some errors in your print book.
Thank you for pointing this out, I’ve noticed them as well.
Because this is my first published work, I chose to save money and edit everything myself/rely on the editing of my writing program. I read and reread Time, Swords, and Blood so many times and I was continually catching errors during every read-through. Moments before submitting to the printer, I caught that I had written “hoards” instead of “hordes”, but there is still things I missed. During my reading of the first chapter at my book launch party I caught that a “the” was supposed to be a “there”. How did I miss that before?!
Anyway, I am presently in the process of fixing these errors and hopefully by my next newsletter this issue will be resolved. People who bought a copy of Time, Swords, and Blood will know if they got the very first run of the books based on the dates I release on fixing these errors. If you received a copy from me or other shops with the first printing run and are disappointed with the errors, you can email me at contact@hannahmanders.com and I’ll send you a signed bookmark as appreciation. Also, you have a very unique copy! They will be the only ones in the world one day!
I am a first-time indie author, obviously, and with it comes a lot of learning. Ten years down the line, I imagine I will still be learning, but the growing pains wont be as they are now. I am so grateful to have everyone supporting me as they are already.

I ordered a book through your website for shipping. How long will it take to reach me?
Thus far, I am so thankful for your patience! The company I’m using for Time, Swords, and Blood is a print-on-demand distributor and unless I place a rush on a case of books, it seems to take its time to get to me.
Here is how receiving a book from me goes:
1. You order a book from me for shipping.
2A. I have a copy in stock, I sign it and send it to you. Within the province shipping usually takes two days! I am unsure about within the country/continent/international yet, but will update with my next newsletter.
2B. I have to order copies from my distributor.
3. The distributor prints copies usually within five days then sends me my copies within three to seven days. Maybe longer.
4. I get your copy and can send it to you!
The last time I ordered books, I ordered enough to cover for the orders I already had plus a little extra to sell at my book launch party. I did NOT anticipate selling out of them. The copies I originally ordered to ship out were snatched up and now I’m waiting on my next shipment so I can ship out all the copies to those who pre-ordered and ordered since the book was released. When I originally ordered, I paid extra on a rush so I could have the copies in time for my launch. This time, I did not so I have no idea when I’m going to receive them, but hopefully within the next week because I placed the order the day after launch. Once I get them, I’ll have a better idea on wait times for the future.

I hope the above answered a few questions or thoughts you’ve been having, if not feel free to comment or get in touch about other things that may be on your mind about Time, Swords, and Blood.

In other news, I’m planning on adding more things for sale in my bookshop section of my website so keep and eye out for those! Goodies will include bookmarks that you may have seen at my launch party, hand-painted bookmark by yours truly, and letters from your favourite characters! I hope to have more available with time, but that is what I have planned so far!

Also, if you aren’t up to anything this week, maybe you’ll like to tune-in to the Into the Geekdom podcast this Tuesday October 29th at 8pm with my friend thechefmike on Twitch! ( https://www.twitch.tv/thechefmike ) We will be talking about my book and other geeky things!

Now I have a question for you fine folks: did you know I have a discord for the world of Time, Swords, and Blood?  Now you do!  I made it a few weeks/months ago (I don’t know) with the intention for future fans to be fans together and also get a chance to get to know me better when I inevitably chime in on thoughts, theories and fan art. If you’re interested in joining, please do! https://discord.gg/TmXT39uq
No one is on there yet and I would love to have a place for my book community to grow.

Also this is a test to see how my newsletters work, so if you know me outside of this newsletter please send me a message and let me know how you received it/if it looks okay. Ect.

With that, lets chat again next month!
